CORE REQUIREMENTS:

What makes a good core?

To ensure your full value for cores please take note of what is accepted as a complete core.


STARTERS

Starter cores must be in good condition and have all applicable parts with it.

Deductions:

  • Chipped Plug

  • Minor Corrosion

Scrap:

  • Seized Pinion

  • Missing Parts

  • Broken Housing

  • Burnt


Alternators

Alternator cores must be complete with all internal parts, plug, freely turning pulley, and housing intact.

Deductions:

  • Missing/Broken Splines (max 2)

  • Missing Cap (if applicable)

  • Broken/Chipped Plugs

  • Minor Corrosion

Scrap:

  • Seized Pulley

  • Missing Parts

  • Damaged Mounts

  • Heavy Corrosion

  • Burnt

BRAKE CALIPERS

Caliper cores must come complete and cannot be severely rusted or pitted. Please make sure your brake calipers meet the core requirements listed below.

Requirements:

  • Bracket (if applicable)

  • Bleeder Valve (if applicable)

  • Piston(s)

  • Cable Guide (rear only)

  • Lever Arm (rear only)

  • Spring (rear only)

Scrap:

Brake calipers missing required items and calipers with severe corrosion or rust will be scrapped.


A/C Compressors

AC compressors must pump with compression. Both the pulley and clutch must turn freely, and plugs must be intact.

DEDUCTIONS:

  • Damaged or Missing Plugs

  • Cut or Missing Wires

Scrap:

  • Broken Housings

  • Damaged Mounts

  • Severe Corrosion

  • Missing Pulley

  • Seized


steering rack

Steering rack cores must be complete and in good condition. The pinion should be free of water damage and rust. The steering rack should also have good hydraulic lines and be able to turn through its full range.

DEDUCTIONS:

  • Bent/Missing Inner Tie Rod(s)

  • Minor Corrosion

  • Missing Boots

  • Minor Pinion Rust

SCRAP:

  • Seized Pinion

  • Damaged/Broken Housing

  • Damaged/Broken Mounts

  • Excessive Pinion Rust

  • Cut/Missing Hydraulic Lines

  • Burnt


Gearboxes

Gearbox cores cannot be severely rusted or damaged. If gearboxes have any of the following damage, they will be scrapped.

SCRAP:

  • Seized Unit

  • Damaged Sector Shaft

  • Damaged Input Shaft

  • Excessive Rust

  • Broken Mounts

  • Burnt


Hydro-boosters

Hydro-boosters must be complete!

Sheared mounting bolts will not be accepted. Please make sure the solenoid is not damaged or missing.

Any hydro-boosters with missing or damaged parts will be scrapped.


Power Steering Pumps

Power steering pumps must be complete and undamaged. Make sure that care is taken when the unit is handled as the plastic canisters are easily cracked and broken. It is usually best to put power steering pumps near the top of the box to avoid damage from excessive weight on the canister.

Deductions:

  • Broken Reservoir (if applicable)

  • Missing Port

  • Missing Pulley

  • Chipped Plug (if electronic)

Any units missing parts, excessively corroded or seized will be scrapped.


Turbochargers

Turbocharger cores must have all applicable parts with the unit!

These include compressor housing, turbine housing, electronic plugs and sensors (if applicable) turbine wheel, compressor wheel and shaft.

The turbine wheel and compressor wheel must both be undamaged, and firmly in place.  Units with a lot of play in the wheel, damaged wheels, or scratched up side walls are not rebuildable and will be scrapped.


COMPUTERS (ECM/PCM/BCM ETC)

Computer cores must be in good condition to be rebuildable.

Scrap:

  • Dented Housing

  • Missing or Damaged Pins

  • Damaged Receptacles

  • Water Damage
